The Magic
Numbers -
Northumbria University Fri. 1st December A very good night was had. Tonight will be getting several different scores though as I feel this is the fairest way to score things. I took myself a 1/2 day off the cuff this afternoon which always sets me up well. Had a good long run in the gym - first time in a while I haven't had to rush off/cut it short to go somewhere/get something done. Then a failed attempt at an afternoon kip rectified with a can of red bull. This integral part oft he preparation set me up well for the evening so I shall give it 9/10. Met Cari in Popolo for a few drinks and then due to laziness a taxi was hailed to drive the short distance to the uni. - the driver seemed very confused about where to go and his grasp of English wasn't 100% - I shan't take this into account when computing the final score for the evening. No idea whatsoever who was supporting at all as we got there late-ish. Now we shall begin the review in earnest. A quick glance at the bars confirmed many hours of queuing lay ahead - upstairs we went to reds and there was a small queue - all was looking good. However this all went tits up as it became apparent the most retarded bar staff in the world were on duty. They'd work their way towards you and then walk off. Cuntz. As it was taking so long I decided I'd be clever and but a bottle of Stella and store it in my jeans in addition to my pint. Cari merrily ordered me the extra bottle and I watched in horror as the bitch (bar woman not Cari) poured it into a pint glass. Meaning I had two plastic pint pots which is exactly what I did not want. Ho hum. I even had to resort to mild flirting in order to be served which I don't like doing - well I do but not when I'm cross as it doesn't come easy. I come easy though. I was close to committing violence in the queue. Score for beer facilities 1.5/10. Gash. Music part. Much better. Again I like the Magic numbers so that's not a surprise - they've got a new album out which I haven't really listened to so the new stuff I didn't really know but I still danced away all neet. All the older songs/covers were class. Very good. Downside was bar/bogs - bogs a long way away and I grabbed us another pint - 5 mins queuing so not horrendous. Enjoyed it. Let's call it a 7 out of 10 for the music. Pleasant surprise was seeing Laura
and John. Very nice. Didn't talk for long as couldn't hear a thing and we
were stood nowhere near each other. Bought them a drink each. Bless them
both. Also saw Pottsie but she was rude and didn't stop. I'll be having
words on Monday. Then finished off up top in the club bit. Yabbered away, drank, no bar queues, supposed to be Indie night but not much crack on Bulletproof. Music got good for the last hour. Saw Scottish Steve who I hadn't seen in a while so that was real good. Martin's mate. He's got married and moved away and was in Newcastle for a night out on the way up to see his Mam and Dad in Aberdeen. Good to see him. He can run very quickly. Anyway excellent company for the
evening, good dance at the end and a very nice night all in all. So the
score for last part of the night shall be 9/10. 1/2 day
